Пожалуй самые важные моменты которые затронули меня лично - это всё же признание упадка в период написания и выхода 4-го студийного альбома Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned:

Времена AONO были нелегкими," – вспоминает Максим. – "Каждый был на своей волне. Мы очень много времени провели в турах и нам нужен был перерыв для того, чтобы найти себя, заняться своими собственными делами. Хотя AONO – это не 100% альбом The Prodigy, он все равно помог группе. Вообще у каждого музыканта, работающего много времени, есть "такой альбом" – период упадка, показывающий, чего они хотят. Мы поняли, что мы упустили. Всему этому надо было случиться, чтобы мы стали теми, кто мы есть сейчас. Мы стали сплоченнее, чем когда-либо" - говорит Максим.

О новом альбоме тоже не менее важная информация!

Максим утверждает, что "Invaders Must Die" возвращает группу к своим корням. "Новые песни грубы и беспощадны. Мы работали над новым материалом около полутора лет, но когда была готова первая песня, остальные пошли как по маслу".

We r all so buzzed about it . it is called INVADERS MUST DIE as you probably know by now ! .11 tracks. its a band album mostly so we can play all the tunes live if we want. didnt want to have any guest vocalists on this record even though we did do 3 collabs but they didnt feel part of this record -- they may come out later. dave grohl plays on run with the wolves, what a top lad he is . he approached me and we pulled that tune out the bag at last minute, fast ferocious tune with evil big electronic riff with keef on vocals. i also got james from 'does it offend yo yeah' in to do a bit of additional production on a couple of tunes .i met him at gatecrasher and he basically told me he was a fan and had been trying to rip of my sound for years , fukin hilarious .  geezer  ,great to work with.  warriors dance is on there sounding massive in its final form . got lots of other beats and pieces left over including a couple of live tunes i know people buzz off so the plan is to put that shit onto an additional disc that will be part of a box set or deluxe -not sure yet but those beats that didnt make the main album need to break out .

It's the news we have all been waiting for. We can now tell you the new album is called "Invaders Must Die" and will be released on The Prodigy's imprint, Take Me To The Hospital, through Cooking Vinyl, on March 2nd. Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Maxim all feature on the album, which is the first time since the release of Fat Of The Land in 1997. The result is back to their bone shaking best, a collision of old skool rave noise with the stratospheric limits of new technology.

пятый студийный альбом выйдет 2 марта 2009 года. Название определено -  "Invaders Must Die". Что еще можно добавить? Просто осталось дождаться срока и услышать всё самим!

Пополнил даты выступления The Prodigy ну и конечно же снова новость о концертах! Повезло снова и в очередной раз Австралии в котором уже не в первый раз проводится Big Day Out Festival. Сама новость на главной сайте The Prodigy и текст его привожу ниже (кому лень открывать, ну и у кого убогий интернет):

Described as the “world’s biggest travellin’ circus”, The Prodigy will be back on the road in January when they tour Australia & New Zealand with the legendary Big Day Out festival. No strangers to the show, this will be the fourth Big Day Out appearance for the band, and 2009 sees them joined by headliners Neil Young and Artic Monkeys. Tour dates are as follows:

Итак в ходе беседы с Джоном Фейрзом (отвечает за дела в группе The Prodigy) стало известно, что новый альбом планируется выпустить в феврале 2009 года. Остается только верить в то, что это окончательный срок и он не будет переноситься, как это часто бывает. Сдержат ли слова менеджмент и музыканты - остается только догадываться...Вопрос по синглу остается открытым. Никто не знает будет ли он или не будет. Покажет время. А пока группа успешно гастролирует и уже отметила

Напомню, что лидер группы Liam Howlett основал свой собственный лейбл Take Me To The Hospital и это будет своего рода дебютный альбом. Напомню, что до этого The Prodigy сотрудничала с лейблом XL RECORDINGS 15 лет и за это время выпустила 4 альбома + сборник The Best.

Recently XL reissued Experience: Expanded, the sounds of the bracing first flush of rave, along with More Music For The Jilted Generation, one of electronic dance music’s high water mark releases. Finally, enough time has passed to judge these albums separately from the metal-lite, stadium direction that The Prodigy took (for an admittedly shortish period of time) with Fat Of The Land. The debut sounds as if someone has stuck a DAT recorder straight into the bewildering energy rush coming out of generator powered sound systems all over the South East and taken a psychic field recording of what was happening in the early 1990s. The naysayers stopped listening after ‘Charly’ because of its novelty overtones and the legion of ‘toy town rave’ imitators that came straight afterwards. More fool them. Not only did they miss out on a TUNE but also on the disorientating rave distillation of ‘Out Of Space’ and ‘Jericho’ but they were soon having to eat their words after the release of the sophomore album. Put simply, The Prodigy were one of the few bands/crews to be good enough to make the transition from rave’s frenetic and anarchic birth to becoming a big name during its imperial period with tracks such as ‘Poison’ and ‘Voodoo People’.

Just after the reissue of their first two albums and on the eve of their Invaders Tour, we speak to Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Maxim Reality, who are in good spirits - albeit hung over.
